Hi Tony, I was surprised by the aurora tonight, being a G1 and inland near light pollution I didn't think there would be too much to see. However a couple of friends got glimpses of an obvious aurora which put me on alert, a clear sector came in between hail showers so I put my drone up for a look, and sure enough there was aurora visible on the controller screen! I took a few exposures and it captured the aurora before midnight during an outburst with vibrant rays. I looked up and could see a concentration of naked eye red/purple beams between Perseus and Auriga even with a street light in front of me. That was a very nice surprise. It then faded as suddenly as it appeared. Drone shots are ISO800 F/2.8 8 secs on four thirds sensor.
