Object/Date: 12P/Pons-Brooks @ 2024 February 13, 19:17 UT Description: Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks on February 13, 2024, located in the constellation Lacerta near the red star 1 Lacertae. With a broad greenish coma, what has stood out in recent days is the rapid development of its ion tail, with several jets and filaments extending up to 2 degrees in lenght to the edge of the field. The comet now has a brightness of magnitude 7.5, and by the end of April it could reach magnitude 4, making it barely visible to the naked eye.
