Details:
A beautiful aurora display filled the Alaskan sky above my Hatcher Pass cabin on February 26, 2024 around 3 am local time (12:00 UTC). The weak CME impact that grazed Earth yesterday delivered several hours’ worth of negative Bz energy which appears to have powered this 62° N high latitude light show. The waning gibbous near-full ‘Snow Moon’ was bright enough to read a newspaper by, but the auroras shone through and put on a very lovely moonlight dance.
