While we were still thrilled to witness the great 'Martian sunspot' (AR3576), the sun didn't give us a break and now presents us with the enormous sunspot AR3590. This sunspot, which appeared on the northeastern limb of the sun yesterday, still sits very close to the edge, but today it's a bit more favorable for photography. Despite the utterly unfavorable conditions due to the atmospheric turbulence, I set out to achieve a good photographic record. After more than an hour and a half of trying to find moments of stability, conditions improved for just a few seconds, enough to capture this photograph. Once again, we can witness the intimate life of our star and the phenomena that occur within it. To take this photograph I used a 10" Newton telescope with its dealuminated primary mirror, a 4X barlow and a Player One Apollo M camera with a 540nm Solar Continuum filter.
