The comet C/2023 H2 (Lemmon) was captured on November 10, 2023, during its closest approach to Earth at a distance of 0.2 AU, moving swiftly across the sky at an apparent speed of half a degree per hour. It was also at its maximum brightness during this time, with a magnitude between 6.5 and 6, displaying a large gaseous coma and a faint ion tail.
