Details:
I was pretty heartbroken that I missed the show early this morning due to work. However, as we pulled into the driveway after work, and before I hopped out of the truck, I took a look at the current data on my phone. I was shocked. I thought maybe I hadn't refreshed it from this morning, so refreshed it again! When the data held tight, I quickly moved into action and headed to my nearest site, just 5 minutes away. The aurora was just starting to build when I took my first picture at 6:48 p.m. It didn't take long to escalate, and this series of photos were taken at 7:32 p.m. These were the strongest reds I captured before the moon rose, when aurora activity also began to wane. This is a 10 frame pano, shot on a Canon R and Sigma Art 20mm lens, iso 5000, f1.8, 2 seconds. Stitched in LR.
