Details:
We woke up at 6:30 a.m. to red skies visible to the naked eye on the first day of December. I quickly bundled up and grabbed my camera gear to get out and beat the sunrise. A bright moon did wash out the aurora to some extent but it also illuminated the landscape. The portion of the display that I witnessed consisted mostly of tall pinkish pillars mixed with some yellow and green. The images brought back childhood memories of rainbow Popsicles. Photos taken NE of Thunder Bay, Ontario with a Canon 6D DSLR, Sigma 20mm ART lens, ISO 4000 with exposures of 3.2 to 4 seconds.
