Details:
A new phenomenon to me. As I reviewed the first few images off the camera, it appeared to be strong, red airglow. No vertical component and not morphing in shape. Not too different in photographic appearance to the SpaceX ionospheric holes a couple months ago. I started seeing social media reports of this being an SAR Arc. I've never heard of it before, but kept shooting. It seemed to very slowly drift westward. Since it was in the midst of some green airglow, I could not differentiate it from the brighter diffuse glow near the horizon naked eye, but the camera caught it well enough. ------ Canon EOS R5 // Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM at 16 mm // 10 exposures stacked in Starry Landscape Stacker to reduce noise. // f/2.8, 13 sec, ISO 3200.
