Details:
I was able to image a spectacular Aurora display from the southern end of the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana this evening, September 18th around 9:30 pm. As the Aurora display progressed, STEVE (left, pink color) showed up along with associated green picket fence emissions spread out to the right. This is the first time I have witnessed this type of celestial event associated with an Aurora display. The wide angle image was captured with a Sony Alpha 6000 DSLR equipped with a Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 fisheye lens with a 15 second exposure at ISO 1600. The view is to the North with the Bitterroot Mountains and lights of the City of Hamilton visible to the left. Incredible night!
