Details:
18 mm F3.5 13-second exposures 1250 ISO Nikon D7500 The ninth aurora I have photographed from here in SE England this year which is staggering considering the light pollution as well as the lower latitude. The first time I've also caught blue rays on camera, just need a big ol' oval now! Bz was rising throughout these shots and after dropping to -18 earlier this afternoon which seems to me that the energy was being squeezed out of it before it went kaput around 22 BST. The glow from the aurora was actually pretty noticeable in the night sky in the third picture as I could see hints of some red in the sky which would draw your attention to that particular area of the sky. The auroral oval in the distance was actually quite prevalent in phone pictures higher up, have attached a picture from my iPhone 13 taken at 21:03 BST. I didn't want to move my camera as I didn't want to spoil the potential for a timelapse!
