Details:
On the morning of September 9, 2023, as Comet Nishimura came closer to the Sun, I was able to take a photo of it when it was only 8 - 10 degrees above the horizon. Starting from September 12, on the western horizon, when the sun is approximately 5 - 6 degrees below the horizon, it can be seen with binoculars if the air is very clean and you are high enough (1,000 meters and above). Nishimura will pass perihelion (closest position to the sun) on September 17, 2023. Meanwhile, its distance from the sun will be 0.225 AU (33.75 million km.). When the photo was taken, its distance from Earth was 0.862 AU (129.3 million km.) and its orbital speed was 69.6 km/sec.
