Details:
This large sprite-halo event was triggered by a -270 KA cloud to ground lightning stroke. Most sprites are triggered by a positive polarity cloud to ground lightning stroke but this one was triggered by a negative stroke so it is considered to be a Negative Sprite event, which are rare in most locations but not here in the Caribbean. It was captured on Aug 18 2023 at 08:51:32 UTC from my location in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico facing southeast. The thunderstorm was located just south of St. Croix. The bright star just below the Halo is Sirius and the one at the top is Mirzam. Sirius is located at the height of 68 Km (42 Miles) and Mirzam is at 89 Km (55 Miles). I also included the VLF radio signal that this event generated.
