Details:
At 8:57 p.m. PDT on August 07, 2023, a Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Vandenberg SFB in California, carrying with it a new batch of Starlink Internet communications satellites to be deployed into low Earth orbit. From under the dark night sky of Borrego Springs some 265 miles to the east-southeast of the launch pad, the plume was relatively faint, but the camera caught the action beautifully, including a two-minute time-lapse showing the rocket and plume heading south over the San Ysidro Mountains, and remnants of the plume crossing the Milky Way and forming an X (no doubt, for SpaceX)! Details: Nikon D750, ISO2500, f/2.8, 4-8s exposures.
