Details:
The image captures a 6.7% illuminated thin crescent venus setting in the western horizon. As the inferior conjunction of the venus approaches (13th August 2023), venus will eventually disappear from the western sky and will turn into a "morning star" towards the end of this month. The thin venus resembles a crescent moon, but appears much smaller. The final image is a result of a blend of 2 images (focus stacked), one for the foreground and one for the venus, taken from the same position. Location: Kolkata, India Gear: Nikon Z6ii, Sigma 150-600c Date: 30th July 2023
