Details:
Velvet green *airglow* near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The night of July 21-22. The marbled bands of glow were clearly visible to the unaided eye in the dark night sky. Solar max boosts airglow, and there is evidence that noctuyrnal lightning plays an important role in the appearence of this phenomenon.
