Comet C/2023 E1 (ATLAS) imaged on May 30, 2023, increasing in brightness is at magnitude 10.4 in this image taken in the constellation Draco, within a field of small remote galaxies. The diffuse and green coma corresponds to its nature of diatomic carbon gas, already reaching 6.5 arcminutes. In one month, the comet will reach its maximum brightness at magnitude 8.5 and will be observable with binoculars from dark locations.
