Details:
With what seemed like an endless string of nights plagued by thick wildfire smoke at the observatory I built at my home in upstate, NY, it was two weeks after discovery that I was first able to once again image this galaxy. In the intervening time the supernova had reached it's brightest point - glowing at magnitude 11, far below the limit of naked-eye visibility but easily within the reach of the rig I was using.
