Details:
Twice a year, if the weather is clear on 17th April and 25th August, the Sun viewed from my house in Murambi East can be seen setting in the middle of the Christmas Pass gap. The April sunset is more difficult to photograph as the Sun is either obscured by late rainy season cloud or, if not, shines so brightly through the clear autumn air that detail is lost in glare. On this occasion conditions were perfect with a small cloud above the Sun dispersing to allow it to disappear in clear sky exactly in the centre of the Pass. Camera: Hand-held and tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset and sunset video modes.
