Never was the power of the eVscope to adapt to challenging lighting more apparent than yesterday afternoon. Using a Rainbow Symphony Eclipse viewer black polymer, first is the sun at 5:15 PM CDT, with big spots AR 3256,57,and 60 evident. Two hours later, catch the Ramadan crescent moon, Venus above it, and Jupiter (faint, to lower right) with iPhone 12s in twight. EVscope reveals the thin crescent, with hint of earthshine, and even more surprising, Jupiter and all four moons in the twilight, only three degrees above the horizon. Had to play with the "edit" controls, of course, but what a range of exposures in one great instrument in challenging twilight conditions! Then went on to use it with John Walker to go deep in Spring Galaxies for next two hours.
