Details:
I was driving home to Grass Valley, California from Los Angeles at the time when the rain storms were approaching the state. At sunset 6:20 while driving, i had a nice view of the moon with the 2 planets. As I was on the freeway at approximately 7:41 in Fairmead 30 miles north of Fresno, I noticed the sky was partially cloudy. It was cloudy most of the drive, but just then to the west the sky was clear and I had a beautiful view of the moon, Jupiter and Venus. Then I noticed a bright star looking point in motion parallel with the planets. I began to suspect it was the International Space Station. I took the picture and within 10-15 seconds later the ISS dropped out of view as it dropped into earth’s shadow. A beautiful sight, simply viewed with the luck that I was at that location at that time and the clouds were partially disbursed. Looks like viewing the night skies can bring some fun and remind us about how good timing brings us good luck.
