Details:
We have had some colorful sunsets here in Stockholm lately but yesterdays was absolutely magnificent. There was an intense glow about 40 minutes after sunset topped by colder hues of pink and purple. My friend Timo Karhula presented the theory that it could be a volcanic dust sunset, we have seen a few in past years and this presented all the specifics. But if this is true, what volcanic eruption could be the origin of the ashes reaching Northern Europe? Could it be from the massive Hunga Tonga volcano eruption of one year ago or are there other possible candidates? My photo was taken with an iPhone and does not do justice to the intensity of the light and colors. Peter Rosén and Timo Karhula
