Details:
Here is the asteroid 2023 BU zooming past in a ten second exposure from 23h30m12s to 23h30m22s UTC. There was a lot of cloud moving about and the only hope of catching this fast object was to 'ambush' it. I drove the telescope to a position ahead of it and waited, taking images in the hope that there would be a clear patch at the time that it crossed the field of view. I succeeded just this once. The trail length, positioning and Position Angle are consistent with expectations, which must rule out a random satellite or aircraft trail. The field is 24' across and N is up (at an angle of nine degrees clockwise from vertical). QSI camera with a 315mm f/8 DKT.
