Details:
On New Year’s Day a cumulus cloud developed in the late afternoon behind Chikanga to the southwest of Mutare which produced some downpours through a gap close to the horizon into which the setting Sun descended to produce a Letterbox Sunset veiled by moving curtains of rain. This was captured in the accompanying montages and still images in which the Sun changes size and shape as it passes behind rain in a gap between cloud and the landscape beneath. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
