I assumed this was due to the reflection on ice crystals from the sun rise. We had a big storm overnight. Wind-chill was in the low -30C. It was directly above me. It was quite beautiful as I have never seen this type before. I have seen the usual sundogs, in my part of the world. I called it my Christmas Smile Rainbow.
