Details:
On Saturday 17th December, dark cloud and moist tropical air encroaching from the north-west resulted in a vicious thunderstorm over Mutare between 5 and 6.30 pm with sheet and forked lightning which included the multiple strikes as shown in the accompanying half-speed time-lapse animation and video frame captures. There was a particularly spectacular onslaught on a distant mountain slope with lightning striking several times in one place at short intervals with an incandescent spot remaining in one image. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in FHD25P video mode.
