It was worth getting up early despite the -2C temperature.
I could not decide what equipment to use for the photos, it was either attach camera to telescope or just use my 150-600mm zoom lens.
For some reason I cannot get a really sharp focus with the camera/telescope combo, my test shots earlier were a little sharper but I was outside for those, for the main event they were nicely placed to see from my balcony, seeing as I like on the top floor of a block of flats the thought of having to carry my gear down stairs at that time when I could iw it from the comfort of my home, well who wouldn't! it may have had some detrimental effect on my images though because of the temperature difference,
Anyway I went for magnification over clarity, so used my scope (a Skywatcher Skymax 127 MCT. After the occultation when Mars was still quite close I did do a few photos with my Sigma 150-600mm lens and it was much clearer, obviously Mars was smaller but I wished i had just used that instead., Live and learn!
