Earlier this month, on 04 Nov 2022, Spaceweather reported on "mysterious blue "auroras" over northern Sweden on 03 Nov 2022 with photos showing a ribbon of blue light which appeared during a geomagnetic storm. I was not out with my camera on this particular night but I watched the auroras from the window in the house where I live on Kvaløya in northern Norway. Just out of habit I took 2-3 shots with a wideangle lens from my window to the south. I never looked at the photos until today, 14 nov, when I was about to delete them and remembered vaguely about the blue ribbon and thought I`d check the photos just in case.. And there actually WAS a blue ribbon on the photos. So I thought I`d submit what I have even if it`s not much. The barn in the photo is in the south and the blue ribbon in the southwest going through Corona borealis. The first photo was taken 18:17 local time (i.e. ca 30 min after the ribbon had sunk below the horizon in Abisko, Sweden according to the statement by Lights over Lapland on Spaceweather). The last photo was taken 18:33 local time and the blue ribbon can just about be seen low over the mountains. Any news on what the blue ribbon was? Nikon D4s, AF Nikkor 14-24 mm @ 14 mm f/2,8. 8 sec exposure.
