Today (22.10.2022) around 23:49 CEST Venus is once again in superior conjunction. The weather could not have been better for a successful observation, because after the extensive rain last night the sky was very clear. The observation of Venus (visually and photographically) was therefore crowned with success. Around 10:30 am I was able to observe Venus visually with the established combination Baader 95/560 APO + Baader Cool Ceramic Herschel wedge + Beloptik UV/IR on KG3 + ND 0.6 grey filter. Afterwards, I also succeeded in photographically proving this. Attention, the "brightening" on the second picture at the lower right edge is of course not the sun, but only a reflection. At the time of the first observation at 10:30 CEST, Venus had a distance of about 48' to the edge of the sun. CAUTION : OBSERVATIONS SO CLOSE TO THE SUN WITHOUT A FILTER ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
