Details:
Just bought a DayStar solar scout off the link on the front page and tried it out today. I see it’s harder than I imagined. I have a ways to go in getting the quality photos I’m after, but not a bad start. Can see filaments on the southwest limb along with new AR3124. Not the best atmosphere here in the Central Valley of California. I think I’ll try photographing the sun at it’s highest rather than low in the horizon. See if that makes any difference! At least I have time to work out the bugs.
