Details:
Almost all the colors of the rainbow were present on the west flank of the structure, during an Aurora Borealis sub-storm in the early morning of October 4th 2022. Woke up after midnight and notice that solar wind parameters were looking great, improved in the last couple of hours, with a negative deep for Bz and a dark brown orange for the graph of the hemispheric power. You know what that color means for Hemispheric power, over 50GW data, and it is time for you to get out of door as soon as possible. Made some calculations having in mind that with current data will take around 50 minutes for the solar wind to travel from DSCOVR to the Earth, and drove to a nearby location just in time to set up equipment and get ready for the incoming show…..and Oh Boy!!! Was it worth it? Definitely, she was dancing wild until the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say that the 14mm wide lens was a joke, the display was humongous stretching from east to west to the north, sometimes gently touching the ground, overhead and to the south as well…so I was able to get just a small part of it….pretty wild night out there… (Municipal District of Opportunity No 17, Alberta, Canada, October 4th, 2022) (Nikon D810 paired with Sigma 14mm 1.8; 1 & 2 sec exposure, ISO 2500, 14mm, 1.8)
