Details:
I was having dinner when I got a notification that Auroras were possible tonight. I checked Spaceweather and saw that a Geomagnetic Storm was underway. I packed my camera gear and headed out of the city hoping that skies would stay clear (it was a little cloudy). Set up my camera by the lake, it was a nice warm evening and by 8:00pm I could already see a faint diffuse glow on the northern horizon. At 8:45pm is when the activity started with some beautiful pillars of green and purples. It didn't last too long and by 10:00pm it all but disappeared.
