Details:
During the night of September 26th into the early morning hours of September 27th we were treated with a fantastic show by Milky Way and a rainbow of colors of Northern Lights. Seeing the solar parameters data climbing from nowhere to a potential fantastic show, I couldn’t wait for the darkness to arrive. Unfortunately by the time I was in a complete darkness, the data went sideways, with hemispheric power dropping from 50GW below 20GW; BZ went from -20nt towards north reading positive numbers, only the density remained high at levels never seen for a long time, hitting almost 80 p/cm3. Obviously the Europe and east parts of North America got the main show. I was waiting patiently all night long and the BZ did not swung south and the hemispheric power didn’t start to climb towards 30-50GW only shy after 04:00 hrs. Despite not having spectacular coronas overhead and crazy curtains dancing wild, the night was calm with a very slow movement and incredible colors of reds, pinks, orange, yellow and of course greens, brought by the high density wind.
