Details:
This is a photo of the M106 galaxy (top right) taken from near Granville, NY on Aug. 27, when the galaxy was near the NW horizon looking toward Adirondack Park. There are at least 5 other galaxies visible in the photo, which covers a few degrees of the sky. Also visible are 6 airplane/satellite streaks (including a faint one) accumulated over a total of only 5.5 minutes of exposure time (the photo is a stack of twenty-two 15" exposures taken between 10:24 and 10:43 PM). A Starlink launch occurred on Aug. 19, and we saw the close train of satellites go by in that area of the sky, and a few nights later saw them go by there more spread out. With yesterday's start of Bluewalker launches, we can now look forward to more and brighter unnatural streaks.
