Details:
Fast-forming green blobs appeared this morning just after midnight Pacific time, starting at 12:05 and faded by 12:26. The storm seemed over but later a featureless green arc rose over the Rockies, with interesting motion at the western end. Suddenly I saw a vertical light to the south of it, in the place normally traversed by STEVE. I could see a distict green to it, not purple though, and photos showed it to be blobs and flashing green flickers. The green colour looks different from the main aurora. The upper blob formed and vanished in just 20 to 40 seconds each time. Previous green blobs I have seen, such as on October 19, 2021, lasted in the same place for tens of minutes at a time. 3 second exposure, 35mm lens full frame.
