Details:
This image captures the little-photographed waning moon with earthshine and stars up to 13th magnitude.
Prominent at the top is the magnitude 6 star V1116 Tauri, which had previously been occulted by the Moon.
A long-exposure (13 s) for earthshine and stars and a short-exposure (1/25 s) for the Sun-illuminated lunar surface sequence of photos were obtained using a small 15-cm aperture telescope under highly turbulent conditions.
Subsequently using software an HDR (High Dynamic Range) combination was made to integrate both series of shots and obtain an image that closely resembles what could be observed visually.
