Details:
We are used to seeing prominences that exhibit wonderful loops and streams that trace out the magnetic field lines with beautiful symmetry. This prominence was in a state of collapse where all of that symmetry and structure had dissolved into a state of chaos that had a wonderful beauty of it's own. It was an amazing sight to behold. Details: Image taken on July 20 at 17:50 UT with a 127 mm refractor, Daystar Quark H-alpha filter and a QHY5III290M camera.
