PLEASE READ ALL. > I was going threw my old external hard drives and came across my Venus Transit image from 06-08-04. I reprocessed today with more updated software power. It was very cloudy that day as you can see that formed what looks like a face over the Sun to me. It looks like the Sun is going to eat Venus. Do you remember the old game PAC-MAN? What do you think it looks like? Transits of Venus are so rare because the planet's orbit is tilted just over three degrees from the plane of the solar system. This means that most of the time Venus passes above or below the sun's disk, as seen from Earth. Venus rotates very slowly on its axis – one day on Venus lasts 243 Earth days. The planet orbits the Sun faster than Earth, however, so one year on Venus takes only about 225 Earth days, making a Venusian day longer than its year! The next Transits of Venus across the Sun will happen on December 10/11, 2117. That is 95 years for now. It will be followed by another on December 8. 2125 at will be 103 years from now. Unfortunately by that time most of you reading this will be reduced back to stardust. With that said have fun today. Kind Regards to ALL 🙂
