Details:
This remarkable view of Venus and stars from the Taurus and Orion Constellations above emerging volcanic sunrise glow was captured from my back door at 5.24 am on Monday. It includes the red giant Aldebaran in Taurus vertically above Venus and the red supergiant Betelgeuse below and to the left of familiar Orion. A short satellite trail appears above and to the left of Betelgeuse and the bright supergiant Rigel stands out above and to the right of the three stars Mintaka, Alnilam & Alnitak in Orion’s Belt. A bonus is the presence of the Pleiades star cluster with blue Alcyone conspicuous above and to the left of Taurus. The bright illumination in the foreground is from the security lighting on my house. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in manual exposure mode f/3.3, 4 sec, ISO-400. Minimal application of Star Spikes Pro filter to enhance visibility of celestial objects.
