Details:
Quite a wide subtle display taken at 01.58 UTC at c. Lat 52 degrees.Just visible to the naked eye in the gathering morning light. Photoshop gymnastics on a section of the sky revealed there were complex wave patterns (poor image). I see that 'Scotty' who is submitting from a few miles south of here shows the width of the display. They were first visible at about 00.50 UTC before disappearing in the advancing dawn at about 02.10 UTC Canon EOS7D 24mm f3.2 4 secs ISO 400
