Details:
The solar equator was easy to spot today, with notable filaments and a new AR north of it, and AR 3040 and a similar filament trailing it on the south side. Assume the new flaring region, brightest area on disk right now, will be AR 3042? Lunt 60, B 1200 Ha diagonal, 12mm Plossl, iPhone 12s. Note the concentration of most activity within 15-20 degrees above or below the relatively quiet equator, as marked here.
