Description:
Comet C/2017 K2 (PANSTARRS) imaged on May 7, 2022, at a distance of 3.3 AU from the Sun and approaching, has a brightness close to magnitude 10 in this image. Its coma is quite condensed with an angular size of 2.7' and white in color revealing a large dust content. A 3' long dust tail extends north over this dense Milky Way star field in Aquila.
