Details:
Jupiter and Mars were very close together on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May. Sunday was partly cloudy with only intermittent views of the conjunction with Venus obscured but on Monday perfectly clear conditions provided an uninterrupted view of all three planets from 3 to 6 am. The first two images are composites which show how Jupiter moved from just below to just above Mars in 24 hours. The third image taken on Monday with the camera at almost maximum zoom magnification provides a spectacular close-up view of Jupiter with 4 moons close to Mars. Camera: Hand-held and tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in night scenery and manual modes.
