Details:
The partial (umbral) and total phases of the Lunar Eclipse between 4.27 and 6.09 am on Monday 16th May that could have been seen from Mutare were only intermittently visible due to partial cloud cover. The accompanying still images and timelapse sequence was obtained during a twelve minute interval (from 5.31-5.43 am) when the totally eclipsed Moon appeared through gaps between cloud. At about 6.00 am when the totally eclipsed Moon was due to set, reflected light from a volcanic sunrise arch in the east (last mosaic) was so bright that it would not have been possible to see it even if there had been no cloud. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in night scenery and sunset modes.
