The vast active region on the Sun as seen this late afternoon from Stornoway, Hebrides, Scotland. Our Earth would fit quite well in the largest dark core. That's how big they are! Good resolution for some minutes with the Sun below 30° elevation above the horizon. Difficult to observe in the past days due to almost constant low cloud cover.
