Details:
Today, I was imaging the sun, and the seeing was just awful. I was lamenting even setting up in the cold while trying to eke out a reasonable image of a row of sunspots. There was a breeze, and the wind direction was blowing roof air over the scope. Yuck! But, as I was taking several videos of the sunspot group, I noticed a flare starting in real time....so I kept imaging every 2 minutes from 18:01 UT to 18:16 UT. I cropped out the particular spot complex (AR2907) and made a short 8-frame animated GIF video. Turns out it was a C-9 flare (almost an M-class flare). The sharpness of the GIF video is not that good. I should just wait until better seeing in spring or summer!
