This image and gif animation show Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) rising above the Catalina Mountains east of SaddleBrooke, Arizona on the morning of 2021 Dec 11. The comet was magnitude 5 and 22 million miles from Earth. The tail was lost in the low altitude haze and morning twilight.
