Details:
I figured Dec. 10 would be my last and only chance to view and photograph comet Leonard since the weather had not been cooperative and after this date the comet would only be low on the horizon in twilight glare. You know it is not a great comet when almost all images so far on line are taken high in the sky with large telescopes and do not include land despite on line articles with click bait titles like best comet of 2021 and once in a lifetime opportunity. True it may be the brightest comet of 2021 and it will never be seen again since it is heading out of our solar system into interstellar space due to its speed. It is not visible to the naked eye as the title of many online articles state, you will need binoculars to see this one. I still wanted to see what image I could get so I decided to drive to Lochiel Lake to photograph it. This is a single image taken with a 40mm lens at Lochiel lake. I used a 20 second exposure. No tracker was used so some star trailing is visible.
