Details:
The 1-5 day old Waxing Crescent Moon is pictured climbing the steep (as viewed from the Southern Hemisphere) alignment of Venus (bottom), Saturn and Jupiter (top) from the 5th to 10th of December. The accompanying images were captured in fading twilight about an hour after sunset and their beauty is enhanced by the presence of some stars from the Sagittarius and Capricornus constellations and the bright street lights of Chikanga Township below. Some are off on two evenings due to load shedding by the local power utility. Cameras: One ΒΌ sec exposure at ISO 1250 using a Samsung S10 mobile phone and five x 4 secs at ISO 400 with a tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in night scenery mode.
