Details:
I took a chase 2 hours north to get out from under the clouds, but I managed to get a good view and even some photos of the deep partial lunar eclipse. Being mobile and on the road and with little time to set up due to the last minute chase, I stayed with wide-field images with cameras on trackers, to capture the unique sight for this eclipse -- the red Moon below the blue Pleiades. Both eclipse shots are blends of a series of exposures, from long for the stars, to short for the lunar disk. Even so, the remaining portion of the disk not in the umbra remained bright, making the scene a challenging one to capture. I included a couple of my customary "trophy" shots, of the successful eclipse hunter and chaser having bagged his game.
