Details:
Upon later review of my images of the north sky taken last night, I realized that I had captured some faint red auroras. These were photographic auroras only - they were too faint to see directly with the eyes. There were bands of clouds cutting through the auroral glow (note the stars shining through the aurora, but not through the cloud bands). The first image was taken at 11:16 PM central daylight time and the 2nd was taken at 8:45 PM CDT. Thy party was over by midnight when the sky clouded over completely. Used Conon EOS 800D f3.5 15 sec ISO 1600.
